Do you enjoy cooking and entertaining?
Do you like fast-paced work?
Do you want to work with lots of different types of people?
If so, you should check out the prorgams in the Culinary & Hospitality Cluster!
Programs in the Culinary & Hospitality cluster arm you with professional cooking and baking techniques, leadership skills and business knowledge that you need to be successful in life. In either program you choose, you will receive an introduction to basic cooking techniques and recipes. What that means is you will be able to save money on food because you can prepare delicious recipes from scratch and not spend money on pre-made overpriced meals, you will guarantee that you will not have to eat generic soup for dinner every night while you are in college and you will be able cook delicious meals and desserts to impress your family and friends. Another transferable skill that you will gain is the ability to provide excellent customer service. That may not sound like much, but imagine any career you may want to have, now think of how you will deal with other employees or customers and how you will resolve any problems that come up. Any career path you take will require you to be able to clearly communicate with others and to use critical thinking to solve problems when they arise - two of the main components of customer service.
In addition to the life skills you gain, both programs also offer you the opportunity to earn industry-recognized certifications. This means that when you have completed your program you will not only earn a high school diploma, but you will also have a certificate verifying that you have skills that most other graduates don't. Earning certifications will allow you to enter the workforce in a position above a general entry-level position and to earn more money.
